Okay, let’s dive into it…

Interview With Tushar Dey Founder Of

Question 1. Please Introduce yourself to the Lit blogging audience?

First of all, thank you, Akash for inviting me to your interview series.

Hi guys, my name is Tushar Dey, and I’m a digital marketer and the founder of the blog.

I’ve been doing blogging for the last 4 years.

I’d be honest, I started my first blog to make some extra income, but soon I fell in love with blogging and digital marketing and decided to pursue it full-time.

Now I’m doing blogging full-time for the last 2 years.

Question 2. When do you start your first blogging and how you know about blogging?

I was searching for some ways to make money online and got to know about blogging.

I knew about freelancing, but even after trying it for 3 months, I didn’t get any projects.

So I started doing blogging with the hope of making money online.

I started my first blog around 4 years back on the free Blogspot platform.

I didn’t know anything about SEO, content writing, and social media marketing at that time.

So, for lack of knowledge, I failed miserably and shut down that blog.

By that time I become very interested in blogging, and I started another blog hoping for success this time.

But I failed again because I’ve chosen a niche where I didn’t have any interest.

Totally I launched around four different blogs in different niches and all of them failed.

But despite those failures, I got to know more about blogging and gained a good knowledge of how blogging really works.

So after that, I started, and this time I made it.

This blog is the backbone of my blogging career and every milestone I’ve achieved until now is because of this blog.

I started blogging for some money but now I don’t focus on money anymore.

Because I got to know that if I solve my audience’s problem, the money will automatically come.

Question 3. Tell us about problems that you faced in the initial days of your digital journey?

One of the major problems I faced during the initial days of my blogging journey was getting traffic to my blog.

And I think most bloggers face this problem too.

The reason I was not getting traffic is because I was only focusing on Organic traffic from Google and I didn’t understand the power of other traffic-driving channels like social media, quora, and networking.

But soon, I realized that I’m leaving a huge amount of traffic on the table just by focusing on Google.

Then I started promoting my blog on social media different channels like:

● Facebook.

● Quora.

● Twitter.

● Pinterest.

And I also focused on networking with other bloggers and started doing the guest posting as well.

Once I focused on these traffic channels, my blog traffic literally skyrocketed.

I started getting 6 times more traffic than before.

Here’s why I advise every newbie blogger to focus on promoting their blog on different channels rather than just focusing on Google.

Question 4. After starting your digital journey, how much will it take to get your first income? How much was that income?

I made my first income from blogging after 15 months of struggling.

It was $100 for publishing a sponsored post on my blog.

Question 5. How many hours did you give to blogging in a day?

Right now, I try to put at least 4 – to 5 hours every day into blogging.

In the initial days of my career, I used to put 10 – 12 hours per day just for blogging.

Question 6. How many blogs are you running right now, and how you manage all of them at the same time?

Right now, I’m running 3 blogs. Two of them are amazon affiliate blogs, and one is my main blog (Makesuccessonline).

I usually don’t put too much effort into my amazon affiliate blogs since I outsource most of the work like content writing.

Most of the efforts go for makesuccessonline since I do all of the work like content writing, SEO, keyword research, and promotion.

This blog is close to my heart, and I always try to put all my efforts into this blog.

Question 7. Now let’s talk about Linkedin As I know you are very active on LinkedIn and many people don’t know much about LinkedIn, can you tell a lit blogging audience about LinkedIn.

Linkedin is totally a gem.

Here’s a mind-blowing fact:

80% of all social media B2B leads come from LinkedIn.

That means out of every 10 B2B leads, 8 leads to come from Linkedin only.

But still, a lot of people don’t understand the power of this platform.

I won’t lie, I also underestimated the power of LinkedIn till the date I found a video on YouTube.

I was surfing YouTube and suddenly a video about the power of LinkedIn pop-up on my feed.

The video creator showed the result of using LinkedIn to promote his business, and I was just shocked by the results.

I was thinking, how can someone get these crazy results on social media that are too organically.

So here’s how I started exploring and learning more about LinkedIn.

Question 8. Can you tell us the importance of LinkedIn and, according to you, why a very large number of audiences are still not aware of that.

The number one reason why a very large amount of people are still not aware of the importance of Linkedin is because of two reasons.

  1. It’s not a fancy social media platform like Instagram and Facebook

  2. People don’t talk about it much

First, let’s talk about the first reason.

To be true, LinkedIn can be a very boring platform for most people.

And it is boring to some extent because people who are using LinkedIn, are either working or business professionals.

But I think like a business owner or marketer, your focus should be on platforms that are high converting and platforms where your ideal audience hangs out.

Don’t think about whether the platform is fancy or not.

And the second big reason why still a huge amount of people don’t aware of Linkedin is because people don’t talk about it much.

I see a lot of posts on social media about Instagram marketing, Facebook marketing, and YouTube marketing but very few people actually talk about LinkedIn.

That’s the reason why a lot of people are still unaware of this amazing platform because they don’t know the benefits and importance of this platform.

I personally got some amazing results from LinkedIn in terms of business.

Other than the business part I got to network with so many industry leaders.

For me, Linkedin is totally a game-changer.

And I highly recommend everyone to utilize this platform.

Question 9. How to make money through LinkedIn?

Money is floating all over LinkedIn but you have to know the exact techniques to grab that money.

There are a lot of ways you can make money.

But right now I’m going to tell you the ways that I personally or my friends are doing to make money from LinkedIn.

So here are a few ways you can make actual and big money from LinkedIn:

● Provide services (For example, if you are a content writer then you can provide content writing services).

● Sell courses.

● Provide consultancy services.

● Sell affiliate products and earn commission

● Get clients for your business or agency.

There might be hundreds of other ways but these are the ways I have tried or have personal experience with.

Question 10. Share some tips to grow a LinkedIn account.

Linkedin is very simple.

I’m going to give you three tips today that helped me to grow on LinkedIn.

Post content

One of the great ways to increase your reach and grow on Linkedin is by posting content.

Linkedin has over 690+ Million active users and only less than 1% actually post on Linkedin.

Other than that the organic reach on Linkedin is way more than any other social media platform.

That’s why posting on Linkedin can help you to increase your reach and also can bring leads to your business.

After I started posting on Linkedin consistently I started getting more reach and I’ve acquired more leads than any other platform.

Posting content is the biggest factor behind my LinkedIn growth.

Be it Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or even blogging.

Consistency matters a lot.

Your first few posts on LinkedIn are not going to get much engagement and reach for sure.

When I started posting on Linkedin (Not consistently) I used to get 1 – 2 for the first three months.

But when I started posting on Linkedin consistently my reach and engagement quickly grew up.

From that incident, I got to know how powerful consistency is.

Optimize your profile

Your Linkedin profile is like your home.

The first thing people notice on LinkedIn is your profile.

So you have to make sure your profile is properly optimized.

Question 11. Some tips to grow a new blog?

Here are a few tips you can follow to grow your new blog:

● Don’t only focus on Google. Try to promote your blog on other platforms like Facebook, Quora, Facebook groups, twitter, and many others.

● Network with other bloggers.

● Don’t focus on money, focus on solving your audience’s problem.

● Invest in improving your blog design and content.

● Maintain consistency.

● Make sure you are doing your SEO right.
